Fallingbostel wives’ fund-raising challenge helps support their deployed partners’ charity conquest
It is usually a charity event to get you out of an operational theatre, and in Afghanistan that is exactly what WO1 Jason Rollins is doing, but back in the 3 Mercian home of Fallingbostel the wives have had a slightly different idea – to cover the mileage it would take to get to Afghanistan.
In Afghanistan, WO1 Rollins is co-ordintaing the 3 Mercian soldiers who are completing a charity event during their nine-month tour called The Staffords A Journey Home.
They will complete the distance from Afghanistan to The Kings Head Pub (where the regiment was formed) by walking, running, rowing, anything that gets the miles done even a tyre flip.
Terri-Ann Wright wanted to support Jason’s fund-raising efforts and so came up with the idea of the wives adding mileage as and when they could to get them to Afghanistan.
